Henry Murger: Bohémvilág

Murger ​Henry, a Vie de Bohéme szerzője, Párizsban született az 1822. év március, vagy április havában. Atyja savoyard ember volt, mások szerint Németországból vándorolt be. Annyi bizonyos, hogy a Trois-Fréres utcában házmesterkedett és szabóskodott. Henryt kézművesnek akarta adni atyja, de anyja közbevetette magát, és a fiú ügyvédi írnokká lett, az ügyvédi irodákban pedig hamarosan kimutatta hajlamát a verselésre és humorizálásra. A tizennégy éves ifjú szenvedélyesen tanult, megismerkedett számos selejtes, sok kitűnő művel, tehetsége izmosodott, de egyúttal mindinkább megkedvelte az éjjeli életet, amiért aztán össze is veszett atyjával, aki 1841-ben kitette szűrét. Ekkor kezdődött a Murger bohém élete, amelynek sok derült, de még több szomorú napja volt, a szerelmi boldogságot többször felváltotta a kétségbeesés. A rossz táplálkozás és a fekete kávé beteggé tette, ismételten került hosszabb időre a kórházba, és csak 1844-ben kezdett jobb napokat látni, amikor Houssaye Arzéne szerződtette az Artiste című laphoz. Később a Corsairehez került és itt adta ki a „Scénes de la vie de bohéme” első részét. A jelentek alapján készült drámát 1849. nov. 22-én játszották először a Variétes színházban.
