Történelmi regény Tours-i Szent Mártonról

Szent Márton tours-i püspök (316/317-398) a Római Birodalom Pannónia nevű tartományában, Savaria városában - a mai Szombathelyen - született, az első szentként tisztelt hitvalló. A nyugati szerzetesség megalapítója, először a galliai Ligugében, majd Marmoutier-ben hozott létre kolostort. Egyszerű papként, szerzetesként, egyházi főméltóságként is jellemezte őt az élet elesettjei iránti könyörületesség, a békességre való törekvés, bizalmát mindenkor Istenbe vetette. Bodnár Dániel regénye e rendkívüli, krisztusi lelkületű személyiség életútját rajzolja meg, bemutatva a gyógyító, a szegényeket segítő, Isten kegyelméből csodákat végrehajtó Mártont, s küzdelmeit a pogányokkal, a világi hatalmasságokkal, és Krisztus legfőbb ellenségével, az ördöggel. A tours-i püspök nem csupán hirdette, de a mindennapokban is megélte az evangéliumot, elutasítva a hatalom szeretetét, megvalósítva közösségében a szeretet hatalmát.
