A magyarul is megjelent Jancsi utazása című kedves kis történet írója ezúttal a serdülő fiatalokhoz szól, megálmodva a tizenöt éves Petra derűs, rokonszenves alakját.
Petra megtestesülése mindannak, amit korunk lányaitól várhat a tapasztalt felnőtt korosztály, s várhatnak maguk a fiatalok is: okos, talpraesett, céltudatos, csupa szív ember, aki tevékenyen és tudatosan éli a végtelen lehetőségeket kínáló életet, igyekszik helyesen értékelni a dolgokat, senki és semmi mellett nem megy el közömbösen. Életében megjelenik a szerelem, s Petra nem tagadja álszent módon, hogy a fiúk érdeklik, de jól tudja: ráér még arra, hogy kivárja az igazi boldogságot, a valódi szenvedélyt.
A regény eltér a műfaj hagyományos követelményeitől: hétköznapi események, belső monológok, látszólag össze nem függő párbeszédek mozaikdarabkáiból kerekedik ki a történet Petra rendkívül sokoldalúan árnyalt alakja körül.
